Through a friend's introduction, I had the pleasure of meeting Uncle Coffee and tasting his hand-brewed coffee. Personally, I was quite fond of it, and even a colleague of mine who doesn't usually drink coffee and isn't familiar with its appreciation was drawn to the aroma of Uncle Coffee's freshly ground specialty coffee. During our conversation, it became evident that Uncle Coffee has a deep dedication and passion for coffee.

From the origins of coffee cultivation and the varieties of coffee beans to the quality of water and even the brewing techniques, Uncle Coffee is meticulous about every aspect, as each difference can influence the flavor of the coffee. His unwavering dedication to the natural taste of coffee is undeniable.

 

It is said that Uncle Coffee was among the first to introduce wild civet coffee. Listening to him recount the days when he ventured into the mountains to collect wild civet coffee beans and the intricate processing methods, he emphasized that he would never deal with or even drink non-wild civet coffee.

 

He meticulously handles every step of the process until that cup of aromatic and rich coffee is presented to the guests. After tasting it, the guests all respond with delighted smiles. This positive energy is a testament to his unwavering dedication to coffee.

Coffee’s Path

 

From his teenage years, Uncle Coffee was frequently exposed to coffee, as his uncle often brought back coffee beans from abroad. This early connection with coffee allowed him to taste a variety of coffee types from a young age. His uncle also shared a wealth of knowledge about coffee, sparking a deep interest in him early on and laying the foundation for his journey as a coffee artisan.

 

2008        During his time working in Indonesia, Uncle Coffee's path of coffee officially began

2009-10   He was invited to serve as a consultant for the "Indonesian Coffee Bean Farmers' Mutual Aid Association.

2010        He was the first to introduce authentic wild civet coffee (Kopi Luwak) to Hong Kong and the Greater China region.

2011-12   He promoted the "Coffee Artisan" training program at multiple institutions in Hong Kong and the University of Macau.

2013-18   Establishing various types of coffee shops in the country, creating diverse cross-industry collaborative cafes, and conducting different

                forms of coffee training and workshops for individuals, private organizations, and government agencies.

2019-20   Organized Chinese coffee shops and training sessions in Montreal, Canada (volunteer work).

2020-24   Served as the Chief Consultant for domestic coffee brands and the Creative IP Theme Coffee Director.
